تغییرات اقلیمی و اثراتش در دو نقطه ی دنیا

اگر پیگیر پیامدهای تغییر اقلیم در نقاط مختلف دنیا هستید این دو لینک شاید برایتان جالب باشد. اول، خبری از استرالیا و اینکه گزارشی منتشر شده است که نشان می دهد تغییرات اقلیمی می تواند باعث تغییرات در الگوهای بارشی، وقوع سیل و افزایش آتش سوزی در بخشی از این کشور بشود.

این گزارش ضمن تایید شواهد پیرامون تغییرات اقلیمی پیش بینی کرده است که جنوب این کشور به شکل قابل توجهی از پیامدهای این تغییرات آسیب ببیند.

The report highlights the key impacts by increased rainfall, rising temperatures and sea levels over the next century.

The report's author, professor Will Steffen, says the the evidence for climate change is overwhelming and clear, and the Illawarra and south coast are particularly vulnerable.

گزارش دیگری به اثرات تغییر اقلیم در مناطق حاره ای پرداخته و به شرایط پیش رو به ویژه در ساحل اشاره می کند. این گزارش خبر از اثرات شدید تغییر اقلیم بر اقتصاد کشاورزی منطقه می دهد. 

 A new report, “Mapping Hotspots of Climate Change and Food Insecurity in the Global Tropics,” contains some grim news for the Sahel. Greg Mills and Terence McNamee of the Brenthurst Foundation write in the Independent Online about the report’s implications for Mali. Noting that the report “predicts that global climate change will curb agricultural output in Mali more than any other country, except its West African neighbours Niger and Burkina Faso,” Mills and McNamee outline the interlocking challenges Mali faces. These include security problems (such as AQIM), rapid population growth, weak employment prospects for youth, and entrenched poverty.
